To day trade means to buy and/or sell a stock on the same day. You don’t hold it over until the next day because the risks are too high. You are basically placing a bet on what you think the price of a stock will be in the next few minutes. You basically buy low and sell high in hopes of making a profit. Trading on margin means you are using borrowed money to make your trades. And the speed at which trades are made can cause you to lose massive amounts of money.
